Hi, I’m Kat
- Oh, hi
I started running as a means to quit smoking over 14 years ago. I never ran more than five or six miles at the most until training for my first half-marathon in 2015. I ran my first trail marathon in November of 2016 – the Moab Trail Marathon – for my 40th birthday. I promptly injured myself in February of 2017 and set a goal to run my first Boulder Skyline Traverse by the end of the summer – 20 miles with 6000′ of vertical gain. Between September of 2017 and April of 2018, I ran it 9 times.
May 2018 – Quad Rock 25mi – 1.2 miles less than my first marathon but with extremely muddy conditions and an additional 2,000′ of vertical gain. I ran it an hour and twenty minutes faster than Moab.
June 2018 – First 50k at Golden Gate Dirty 30
July 2018 – First 50 miler at Mt Hood 50 – finishing 10th female.
